What kind of flowers do you like to see growing in a garden?
Cosmos, Petunias, and Sunflowers are my favorite flowers to see grow in my garden!!

Reply:My garden is all in shades of yellows, whites, blues and purples. I grow foxglove, alliums, delphiniums, bleedinghearts, bugbane, mountain bluet, lavender, Russian sage, jack frost ornamental grasses, salvia, tulips, lantania, ligularia, catmint, Persian shield, verbena, Jacobs ladder, bearded iris, and mums. My garden is in bloom from May to end of Oct. Many of the plants attract butterflies and hummingbirds. This is just the front yard garden, the backyard is more tropical.

Reply:I favor fragrant flowers. I'm also partial to flowers that have long blooming seasons. I don't care for garish colors, so I tend to avoid those. I also avoid the ones that have ugly foliage (which for me includes begonias).





So, I have tons of jasmine, sweet peas, soapwort, lavender, phlox, petunias, clematis, hollyhocks, campanula, impatiens, wild violets, fragrant lilies, a few antique roses, and columbine.

And flowering shrubs...like Kerria, and camilias, and ...





Zyziphus! Yummy. But that's a tree. And the flowers are nearly impossible to see.





Batchelor buttons. Gallardia.





So many possiblilities. Check locally. What zone you are in makes a difference. And other things too.
Reply:Bulbs in the springtime, sweet peas and poppies and rudbeckia in the summer, mums and asters and such in the autumn, and cornflowers, snapdragons and roses and almost any flower all the time!
Reply:Red poppies... All wild... Or peonies. They're my favorite. Or I love Daphne and gardenia trees... I have them by the front door to my house. Fantastic! Wisteria is beautiful to hang. Oh, I love them all!
