What is the name of the plant that deters cats from coming into the garden and digging up the flowers?

I don't know of any plants that cats don't like, but I can give you a sure-fire way of getting rid of those pesky felines.

Cayenne pepper!

I sprinkle it all over my flower beds and the cats seem to stay away. Try it out.

Cats do not like coleus canin also known as scaredy cat sold by Thompson %26amp; Morgan. These plants are annuals and are not winter hardy but can be overwintered indoors or in a greenhouse.

Reply:u need something like cacti
Reply:you can plant catnip on the other side of your yard and they will go there instead of your garden
Reply:most plants which smell of citrus will deter cats, ie lemon balm, lemon verbena. catnip encourages them.

5tbsp. of Flour, 4 tbsp. of Powdered Mustard, 3 tbsp. of Cayenne Pepper, 2 tbsp of Chili Powder, 2 qts. of Warm Water. Mix all of the ingredients together. Sprinkle the solution around the perimeter of the areas you want to protect.
Reply:i am not sure of a plant that deters them, only of one that encourages them and thats called catnip . i would suggest you have a look at some gardening magazines, or go to a garden centre for advice. they might be able to sell you a humane cat deterrent. please don't use rose thorns ,it is very painful for the cat and costly for the owner! you could try ordinary garden bark or mulch( NOT the ones containing cocoa pods) cats don't seem to like the mulch because it's quite rough. they only seem to like the soft soil. anyway i really hope this helps you and good luck with your garden.

I have tried every trick in the book over the many years of my gardening career apart from a gun, and Ive still to find a really good solution to this problem as many of the tricks seem only to last a short time. The closest Ive found as a deterrent is rose clippings or wire / chicken mesh round the base of the plants.Cats absolutely hate rose clippings, its like walking on glass.Cayenne, White or Black pepper works a little but us easily washed away in the rain.

Good luck.
