What are some pretty flowers to plant in a garden that last a long time and dont need to be replanted often?
Roses - I have some of them for 20 years. Lillys, Iris, Margarets, Gazania (very beautiful) are long lasting and easy to keep. Passiflora coerulea and Strelitzia Reginae are apsolutly fabulous, but you can have them only if you live in mediterran area, they can die under 0 C.
Reply:try a variegated iris. they dont flower much, but the leaves are amazing. tulips are nice. also i love cammellias. these are not very cold hardy only to 5 with damage at 15.beautiful spring blooms and glossy leaves all year long.

also cannas these are perrenials cold hardy to 10.need water and LOTS of sun
Reply:I am an bearded iris fan. They come in a rainbow of colors, are perenial and multiply like crazy. They are nearly maintenance free and quite easy to grow. The site below offers hundreds of different varieties and colors.
Reply:Tulips, daffodils, hostas, lilys,
Reply:Any perennial will keep coming back if you feed it.
Reply:I have a flower bed in front of my house full of annual flowers of the sorts that self-seed and come back every year. Try cosmos, bachelor buttons and poppies! Just don't cut the heads off when they are finished flowering, and let the seeds fall on the ground. Or, you could save some of the seeds when the flowers are dried in case you want to re-plant in some areas.
