How can i get rid of moles? i planted a garden and their eating my veggies and flowers. please help?

i've tried drowning them with the water hose, and putting glass in the holes, is there anything else besides poison i can use, i have a dog that digs them up and kills them when he gets a chance, but there's just to many of them, and because he kills them i don't want to use poison please help....

I was going to suggest chewing gum as it is good for killing gophers. However, I ran across this information about moles.
Reply:I would think the moles eat the roots........something else may be eating your vegs...try the little wind mill things you buy from Wal-Mart or dollar stores...Moles hate viberations......
Reply:I have found that Human hair put into the hole works.. They can't resist eating it and it will kill them.. you can get hair from a barber or beautitian.. I have this from a 78 year old master gardener she uses this whenever she needs it and it has worked for me!
Reply:Moles don't eat plants at all, just worms and grubs. You may have a rabbit problem, but it's certainly not moles. They just leave heaps of soil that may spoil the look of your garden, but won't cause any other problems.
Reply:Try mixing cayene pepper and water and spraying it around your plants. I believe you have wabbits eating your flowers and veggies.
Reply:Moles eat grubs that are in the ground and they dont eat veggies and flowers. That is something else eating your veggies and flowers. The only way to trap moles are inground traps.


Depending on where you live it could be deer? Rabbits? Raccoons? and so on. Do a little research first. You could but a spray at your local hardware store that is called Liquid fence and spray that around that will turn away almost anything because it smells so awful!

Reply:From my experience with gophers, the best thing you can do is dig deep down where you're going to put your plants, flowers, or whatever, and lay down some chicken wire. Then put the soil back on top and plant your plants. They can't get to them anymore so they leave. Good luck.
